Today my wife graduates with her B.S. in Child and Family Studies from Portland State University (PSU). She has worked thirty to forty hours per week while being a full time student over the last couple years. In addition to that she did multiple internships for her program: one at a shelter for the homeless and the other at a local high school.
On Friday she received one of the prestigious University Wide Awards representing undergraduates from the College of Social Work. This award goes to one student from an entire college in the university. These colleges represent several programs internally (i.e., she wasn’t the nominee from the Child and Family Studies program alone, but all the programs under the umbrella of the College of Social Work). PSU has nearly thirty thousand students, so to be one of thirty or forty students honored is very impressive!
Congratulations to my amazing wife, Miranda Perez-LePort. She has made me very proud and I am blessed to witness the wonderful person she has become. She is one amazing woman!

Congratulations, Miranda! I tried this once and I couldn’t do it.

Tell your wife congrats for me, Brian (even though she doesn’t really know me). A great accomplishment, indeed!
