  1. Never mind that Hitchens was a full on supporter for the illegal invasion of Iraq, the human consequences of which are described here;

    http:erasingiraq.com

    Bush, Blair and Howard, the 3 prime movers for the Coalition of the KILLING should be prosecuted as War Criminals

    This invasion gave us the now never-ending “war on terror” – whatever that could possibly be!
    That open-ended phrase is pure Orwellian double-speak, which is of course completely ironic because Hitchens used to prattle on about Orwell.

    He subsequently became a propaganda hack for the right-wing neo-psychotic think tanks that provided the ideological justifications and even logistical support for the process of world-wide deliberate cultural destruction as described in The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein.
    The book contains a section on Iraq which describes what was deliberately and systematically done by Hitchen’s PSYCHOTIC friends.
    One of the chapters is titled Erasing Iraq: In Search of a “Model” for the Middle East

  2. Notwithstanding my disagreement with Hitch on many issues, I found him mesmerizing. His energy and his passion would have served so well in the cause of Christ.

  3. Turns out Christopher Hitchens had fans and admirers from all walks of life. Found this post commemorating Hitchens by a rather unlikely blogger. Funny and poignant. He will be missed. Click here to read it for yourself http://bit.ly/w40uFn

  4. The value of Hitchens was that he forced Christian’s to defend their beliefs. This is/was a good thing. I admit however, that I had hoped God would soften his heart before the end. My best friend is an atheist dying of Huntingtons and if Hitchens repented, there would be hope for my best friend.

    No matter, there is always still hope for my friend while he still draws breath.

  5. Andrew T,

    On the authority of the Scriptures I can tell you that your best friend will be in heaven. This does not mean that God will not judge our sins for He surely does. It does mean that, just as He taught us, mercy triumphs over judgment.

  6. @Mike, indeed mercy triumphs over judgement (one of my favourite verses [James 2:13]).
