Eugene Peterson addresses how we are “storied” beings. We have stories, and once we see our stories connected to God’s story, the sermon is doing what it is intended to do.

    You need to get Peterson’s, Eat This Book. :) Just finished it and it was so pastorally marvellous with regards to approaching Scripture. Very solid, and evangelical, but not so tight and dogmatic as a systematic approach to Scripture.

  2. @Scott: I have had an eye on it for a while. I do hope to read it. Maybe this year even!
