Logos Bible Software and the Society of Biblical Literature are pleased to announce the release of a new, critically edited Greek New Testament.

Yes it is available for free on Logos Bible Software.  Which is also available for free on iPad and iPhone.  There will be a PDF version coming soon!  This all great news because now I’ll have a good Greek text on my iPad. There are a few other bible software that is is available as well such as esword.

Background:
The SBLGNT is edited by Michael W. Holmes, who utilized a wide range of printed editions, all the major critical apparatuses, and the latest technical resources and manuscript discoveries as he established the text. The result is a critically edited text that differs from the Nestle-Aland/United Bible Societies text in more than 540 variation units.

  1. Robert,

Just wanted to let you know that SBLGNT Editor Michael Holmes will be answering any questions posted in the Facebook comment thread we just started (http://on.fb.me/cvil0X).

He’ll be watching the thread for questions all week and post detailed replies on Tuesday the 16th at 10 a.m. PT. The sooner questions are posted, the more time he’ll have to give a thorough reply.

Thought you might want to help get the word out. This should help people understand more about SBLGNT and the role it can/will play in biblical scholarship.

    Stephen
