Paul Bruggink suggested that I address the war of words between Al Mohler and The BioLogos Foundation. I have not paid enough attention to say anything interesting but since it is a hot-topic it couldn’t hurt to provide easy access to the relevant materials. Brian,
As I wrote on one of the BioLogos threads, the Christian and the Jewish man (person), can only really stand upon Scripture here. And even Augustine’s position of Gen. 1-3, was really like a theological “framework”. I would stand closer to Mohler here myself, as we simply must rely upon Scripture itself. “For (theology) does not receive her first principles from any other science, but immediately from God by revelation. And therefore , she does not receive of the other sciences as from a superior, but uses them as her inferiors or handmaids.” (Leo XIII…Ench. Bibl., n. 125.)
